PowerBook 165c

 
 

The PowerBook 165c was a PowerBook 165 with a 68882 FPU and an 8-bit, passive matrix color display. Sold along with the black and white PowerBook 145 and the greyscale PowerBook 180, the PowerBook 165c was Apple’s first portable with a color display.


The PowerBook 165c featured a 33 MHz Motorola 68030 processor, 68882 FPU, 4 MB RAM, 80 MB or 160 MB hard disk drive and 512k VRAM driving a 8.9”, 256-color passive-matrix LCD display. Opening the door on back revealed serial, ADB, SCSI and external video ports. An internal modem slot supported a few different third party modem options. The PowerBook 165c supports SCSI Disk mode allowing it to be used as an external SCSI hard disk drive.


This 165c features an 80MB hard disk drive, 14 MB RAM and a dead battery. It boots to the original System 7.1.
