PowerBook 165

The PowerBook 165 was a speed-bump to the PowerBook 160, the only difference being a faster 33 MHz 68030 processor. Sold alongside the PowerBook 145b and the PowerBook 180c it filled the middle slot in the PowerBook lineup.

The PowerBook 165 featured a 33 MHz Motorola 68030 processor, 4 MB RAM, 80 MB or 160 MB hard disk drive and 512k VRAM driving a 9.8”, 4-bit greyscale, passive-matrix LCD display. Opening the door on back revealed serial, ADB, SCSI and external video ports. An internal modem slot supported a few different third party modem options. The PowerBook 165 supports SCSI Disk mode allowing it to be used as an external SCSI hard disk drive.

This 165 features a 160 MB hard disk drive, 4 MB RAM and a dead battery. It boots to the original System 7.1.
