I am in the process of building a new section of the site filled with helpful tutorials covering different ways of using Mac OS 7.6 and Mac OS X Leopard together.

Parts I and II of the File Sharing tutorial are now available - more to follow soon.

Thanks for putting all this info in one place. It's very helpful. Took me quite a while to figure it all out when I tried to include Tiger in my LAN a few months ago.

Yes well I'll be slowly over time adding the rest of the articles - the missing future ones are dimmed in gray.

Hi,
I did everything on the System 7->Leopard tutorial and after choosing the shared folder on Leopard from System 7, my System 7 froze and I had to do a force restart to the computer.
Any idea what can be the reason for that?

Have you tried it a second time?

Also, what version of System 7 are you using?

I too have been having issues with my Color Classic and my iMac Core 2 Duo. I can SERVE files just fine using Shareway IP, but I cannot connect to the iMac. I can see the drive options, but when I try to connect to any, I get a Type 1 error. I have tried 7.6, 7.6.1, OT 1.1.2 and 1.3, Appleshare 3.7.4 and 3.8.3. Also deleted Desktop, TCP prefs, and Appleshare Prep. Tried with VM off and on, as well as Ram Doubler. Always the same error. Any ideas?
