iBook G4 12” “Mid 2005”

One of two options for the last of the iBook line, the 12” iBook G4 featured a 1.33 GHz G4 processor, 512 MB PC 2700 RAM, a 32 MB Mobility Radeon 9550 graphics chipset, 40 GB hard disk drive, slot-loading DVD/CD-RW “Combo” drive, 802.11G “Airport Extreme” and bluetooth 2.0 cards for $999. Firewire 400, USB2, 56k modem, 10/100 ethernet and audio/video in/out ports were lined up the side. The sudden motion sensor and scrolling trackpad features of the PowerBook G4 made their debut in the iBook line with this model.

Although it’s white, polycarbonate styling lived on in the new, Intel Core Duo-powered MacBook lineup, the “iBook” name was put to bed with the “Mid 2005”.

This machine features a 1.33 GHz G4 processor, 1 GB RAM, 40 GB hard disk drive and DVD/CD-RW “Combo” drive. It was a hand-me-down gift from a friend. It boots into Mac OS X 10.4.4 “Tiger”.
