iBook G3 “Dual USB”
The first major redesign of the iBook line, the iBook G3 “Dual USB” would shape the look of Apple’s consumer-level laptops for nearly a decade. Gone were the fruit-flavored colors and round, rubberized surfaces of the previous generation iBook, replaced by the new generation’s sleek translucent white and silver polycarbonate chiclet square. On the inside, the new model offered modest improvements including an additional USB port, a processor speed bump from 466 MHz to 500 MHz and PC100 RAM.
This machine was a hand-me-down gift from relatives. It features a 500 MHz G3 processor, 128 MB RAM, 20 GB hard disk drive and CD-ROM. It boots into Mac OS 9.2.
