Quadra 950

The Quadra 950 upped the clock speed of it’s similar predecessor, the Quadra 900 from 25 MHz to 33 MHz. Like the 900, the Quadra 950 is quite possibly the most expandable Macintosh ever made. Sixteen RAM slots supporting up to 256 MB and five NuBus 90 slots plus room for up to three internal SCSI hard drives. A full 5.25” bay provided space for an optical, tape or SyQuest drive or two 1.44 MB “SuperDrives”.

The Quadra 950 featured a full 33 MHz Motorola 68040 processor, 8 MB or 16 MB 30-pin RAM, 1 MB onboard VRAM, a 200 MB, 400 MB or 1 GB SCSI hard disk drive, 1.44 MB floppy disk drive, optional 2x CD-ROM, five NuBus 90 slots, AAUI Ethernet, serial, ADB and audio in/out ports.

This Quadra 950 was spotted by my lovely wife at a garage sale and snapped up quickly. It features 24 MB RAM and a 1 GB hard disk drive. It boots to the original System 7.0.1.
