PowerBook G4 15” “DLSD”
The last PowerBook G4 was released in late 2005. It featured a number of upgrades over it’s predecessor inside, including the dual-layer Superdrive (giving this model it’s nickname - DLSD), revised logic board, faster DDR2 RAM and high-resolution display. Battery life also increased by more than an hour.
The DLSD” models feature a 1.67 MHz PowerPC G4 processor, 512 MB DDR2 SDRAM, a 128 MB Mobility Radeon 9700 video card driving a 1440 x 960 15” LCD display, 80 GB PATA hard disk drive, 2.4x dual-layer Superdrive and a backlit keyboard. Connectivity is provided by an 802.11 b/g Airport Extreme card, gigabit Ethernet, bluetooth 2.0 and 56k modem. Standard ports are Firewire 800, Firewire 400, USB 2.0 and PC Card slot.
This PowerBook G4 15” “DLSD” is in a stock configuration and was a gift from a friend. It boots to the original Mac OS X 10.4.3 “Tiger”.
